Choose the Activities that Work Best for You

There are so many wonderful resources in Tell Me More that you should not waste a moment on any activity you dislike. Concentrate instead on activities that you find helpful and rewarding. If you absolutely hate word searches or crossword puzzles, substitute other activities that support learning new words and how to spell them. Use Tell Me More like a toolbox, and select the best tools for your learning style and preferences.

Take Notes and Take Charge of Your Program

As in any course, use a notebook as you work with your lessons. Write down new words and their definitions, associate terms that mean the same thing, belong to the same concept family or form pairs of opposites, copy sentences with new expressions. Processing new material in this manner supports retaining the information. Use Tell Me More creatively to fuel your learning engine, but remember - you are the driver! We are here to help you get the most out of your course.

Add Additional Resources to your Basic Lessons

Each lesson shows how many hours or minutes of activities it contains. This does not include the time it takes you to respond, to repeat and practice pronunciation, to take notes and so on. Therefore, the times provide only a very rough idea of how long each lesson will take you to complete.

Your MLR teacher assigns target dates for the completion of each lesson. If you find that you finish all the lesson activities well before the target date, you can add additional components to your basic plan. The additional resources complement the basic lesson in theme, but focus on specific skills. Each adds hours of new activities to your basic program.
