Italian - Intermediate 2

In this course, you will learn how to express yourself in writing and speaking. You will learn how to arrange a business trip, entertain clients and colleagues, negotiate contracts and sales, and deal with problems of service and billing.

The following lessons are based on the TMM language program sequence Italian, Advanced/Expert, Level B2/C1, Professional Situations. We will begin with Lesson 9, in order to avoid duplicating lessons in our Intermediate Italian course.

Business Trip. In this lesson you will learn the Italian words used for commercial negotiations, for booking a room in a hotel and for organizing a tour.

  • Grammatica. Il suffisso "-unque," "quanto," "se fosse in …," il suffisso "-ata."

  • Lezione 10. Attività culturali.
  • Words and grammar are only parts of a system of communication … the cultural context is also important. These brief lessons provide an insight into an aspect of Italian language and culture.

Entertainment. In this lesson you will learn vocabulary and terms for making the most of a trip. Learn how to inquire about amusements, find out dates and times for flights, organize an itinerary.

  • Grammatica. Il congiuntivo imperfetto, il congiuntivo trapassato, il condizionale presente, usi del verbo "potere."

Language proficiency level C1 is defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Language as follows:

A learner at this level is able to comprehend the main ideas of most texts, including complex texts, especially in the area of specialization.

A learner at this level is able to interact verbally with both native speakers and speakers with unfamiliar accents on a wide variety of topics without searching for words. This speaker can adapt to various social situations or levels of formality.

At this level, a learner can produce well-structured, detailed texts on a complex subject for various purposes: personal, business and academic.
