Standards
My Language Requirement is a private organization of educators delivering college-level courses in English, Spanish, German, Italian and French. We maintain the same high standards for our courses through My Language Requirement as in our courses on-campus.
Teacher Qualifications
Our instructors hold graduate degrees at the M.A. level or Ph.D. level in the languages they teach. They have years of university teaching experience, both in the classroom and on-line using the Tell Me More program. Our teachers are knowledgeable and dedicated to helping their students achieve their goals.
Program Standards
As do many colleges and universities, My Language Requirement uses the Tell Me More program as the basis of our curriculum. This is due to its wealth of resources and the excellent speech-recognition feature. Not only that, Tell Me More is commited to providing the highest quality materials based on the latest research on best practices in second language acquisition. Because it is a program delivered entirely on-line, it is always up-to-date.
Course Completion Standards
In order to earn a Certificate of Course Completion, a student practices at least 22 hours with Tell Me More and takes two assessment tests: a placement assessment to determine course level, a midterm assessment.
In Tell Me More students must complete 60% of each assigned lesson with an accuracy rate of 60% or more. Learners also maintain contact with the instructor at least once per week to reflect on their work and progress.
In addition, in a Writing-Intensive Course, the student proposes, creates, drafts and revises two writing projects in the target language.
The Certificate of Course Completion is awarded when the student has met these standards.
